Description
Alumold is a widely used 7000 series mold plate that has several valuable characteristics for plastic mold applications. Available in thicknesses from 1” to 10”, its high hardness translates to excellent polishability for cosmetically sensitive applications, and the grade’s elevated mechanical properties are consistent throughout the plate’s thickness. Machinability is excellent and thermal conductivity is high, making it a superb material alternative to hardened steel in plastics processing. Alumold plate is age hardened and stress relieved for dimensional stability. Please contact us for recommended welding procedures if weld repair is required.
